PC and console clean-out

A deep clean for a PC or console that runs hot or loud. Dust out, fresh thermal paste, and it runs cooler and quieter again.

What's included

  • Dust blown and brushed out of fans, filters, heatsinks and radiators
  • With the paste option: old thermal paste cleaned off, fresh paste put on
  • Fans checked and cleaned
  • Cables tidied inside PCs
  • Temperatures checked before and after

  • A PC or console that runs hot or shuts off under load
  • Machines that haven't been opened in a year or more

Thermal options

The material between the chip and the cooler decides how cool it runs and for how long. Eric can use:

Quality thermal paste

Included

A fresh, good-quality paste. The right choice for most PCs and consoles.

PTM7950 phase-change pad

Eric's pick, extra cost

A pad that melts into place the first time it heats up. It doesn't dry out or pump out, so it keeps working for years. Eric runs it on almost all of his own CPUs and graphics cards.

Usually adds about $50 to the job. Bigger chips cost more, so it's priced case by case.

Liquid metal

Only where it's safe

The best heat transfer, but it conducts electricity and can't touch some metals. Eric tells you if your device can take it. Quoted per job.
