Websites and Discord
Websites and Discord
Discord servers, Discord bots, and websites for gamers and local businesses. Built by Eric, done online, anywhere in Canada. Every job is quoted before it starts, as a fixed price for what the quote describes.
What Eric builds
- Discord server setups: channels and categories, roles and permissions, welcome and rules, verification, tickets and auto-roles, with free bots like MEE6 or Carl-bot set up and styled. Premium bot plans are bought by you, and Eric sets them up.
- Custom Discord bots: commands, tickets, games, roles and links to your other services, written for your server.
- One-page sites: a clean page for a clan, a streamer or a small business.
- Business websites: up to 5 pages, with a contact or request form that emails you.
- Websites with an admin: change your own products, prices, photos or listings, and see form requests in a list.
- Admin phone app (optional): your admin as an app on your phone's home screen, with notifications ($500; included in a business system). On an iPhone, notifications need a recent iOS.
- Custom business systems: requests, quotes, bills, payments, email and records, all in one place, like the system that runs this website.
No App Store apps. A phone app here is your admin, added to your phone's home screen from the browser.
Examples
- This website, HandBuiltPCs.ca: the public site, plus a private admin for requests, quotes, bills, payments and records, with a phone app and notifications.
- Canadian Game Forces: a gaming community's website and its Discord bot.
What's yours
- Your domain, hosting, business email and accounts are in your name, paid by you directly. You buy your domain yourself: Eric never buys domains for customers, and never holds yours. He sets things up with you, through an admin or team role you give him.
- What they usually cost: a .ca domain about $10 to $20 a year; hosting free for a simple site, or about $5 to $25 a month for a site with an admin or a bot; business email about $1 to $7 a person a month. (What suppliers charged in November 2026: they set their own prices and change them.)
- The code written for your job is yours once it's fully paid. Eric keeps the right to reuse his own tools and general code, and free bots and open-source parts keep their own licences.
- Spelling mistakes in the delivered text, found within 30 days, are fixed free.
How it works
- 1
Ask for a price
Tell Eric what you need, and send sites or servers you like.
- 2
Fixed price first
A quote that lists exactly what's included. You reply "I agree".
- 3
Built
At least 2 weeks. You see a working version (the main parts running in a test place) before it's finished.
- 4
Delivered
Once the last payment is in, it goes live, with your backup plan. Spelling mistakes found within 30 days: fixed free.
Backups
- Every new build: a written backup plan at delivery: what's backed up, where, and how to check it.
- Websites without an admin: set up by Eric, included. Your host keeps past versions, and you get a copy of the whole site to keep (a new one after every change).
- Discord servers: set up with you, included: a free backup of your channels, roles and settings, made from your own account so it's yours, plus an automatic one every day.
- Bots, admins and systems on a server: a nightly encrypted copy to storage in your name, set up and tested by Eric (from $300, priced in the quote).
- Your backups are in your own accounts, and keeping them running is up to you: a few minutes a month. With a care plan, Eric checks them once a month. Putting a backup back is a change, priced first, or part of a care plan.
Care plans
Want Eric to look after it? With a care plan, he watches your renewals and reminds you before they're due, checks your backups once a month, keeps what he built and installed up to date, and makes small changes up to the hours included. One yearly price, paid in advance. Your domain, hosting and email bills stay yours, paid by you.
- A website: $300 a year, with up to 2 hours of small changes.
- A website with an admin: $900 a year, with up to 1 hour of small changes every two months.
- A business system: 15% of its price, at least $1,800 a year, with up to 1 hour of changes a month.
- Hours not used don't carry over, and a plan isn't refunded part-way. It starts the day it's paid (or at delivery, if that's later), and you or Eric can end it at its yearly renewal. Updates keep things current, but no site can be promised never to go down or be broken into.
- No care plan? Changes are priced before they're done, from Eric's look at what you want: $200 for about 2 hours of work, $300 for about 2 to 4 hours, and bigger work gets a written estimate at $90 an hour. Eric checks with you before going over it. A change is paid in full when it's done and shown to you, before it goes live.
A new site, bot or setup is paid by Interac e-Transfer, in parts: a third to start, a third when you see the working version, and the last third when it's finished, before it goes live. Half and half only for a one-page site or a Discord server setup on its own. See the terms.
